How to get started
About Me
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC‑A) practicing under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kevin Milligan, PhD, LPC‑S. I’m a San Antonio native — born and raised — and a first-generation college graduate. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a pre-counseling concentration and a minor in Biology from Our Lady of the Lake University, and earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University–San Antonio.
I’ve worked with children, adolescents, college students, and young adults throughout my training and early clinical years. Here at Road to Serenity Counseling, you’ll find a supportive, neuro-affirming practice and a judgment-free space where you’ll feel heard, seen, and valued at the interpersonal level.
My Therapeutic Approach
My style of therapy is eclectic and integrative, drawing from solution-focused brief therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches and techniques. My approach to the therapeutic relationship is client-focused: we work collaboratively to find what fits best for your current needs and goals. I bring empathy, compassion, and patience to the work — whether you’re moving through a difficult season, a major life transition, relationship issues, college adjustment, or distress.
The Philosophy Behind My Work
I don’t see people as broken or in need of fixing. Life leaves marks on all of us, and those marks tell a story. The Japanese art of Kintsugi teaches that when something cracks, the repair can become part of its beauty. It’s a philosophy that embraces our human flaws, our fragility, and the truth that healing doesn’t erase what happened — it transforms it.
Kintsugi reminds us that adversity can shape us into someone stronger, more grounded, and more whole than before. That belief guides my work. Every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. Every person deserves a space where their story is honored, not judged. And every person deserves support as they heal, grow, and reconnect with who they are becoming.
It’s an honor to walk alongside clients as they build resilience, embrace their authenticity, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Areas of Focus
Whatever brings you here, you deserve care that meets you where you are. These are the concerns I most often help clients navigate.
Racing thoughts, overwhelm, and burnout — learning to quiet the noise and find steadier ground.
Depression and mood-related disorders — rediscovering energy, meaning, and connection at your own pace.
Neuro-affirming support that works with your brain, not against it — focus, routines, and self-understanding.
A safe, steady space to process what happened — including domestic violence intervention and prevention.
New chapters, new cities, new identities — support through school stressors and the seasons in between.
Peer relationships, partners, and family dynamics — communicating needs and setting boundaries with care.
Types of Therapy
No single approach fits everyone. Together we’ll draw from these modalities to build something that fits your needs and goals.
Builds on your existing strengths to create practical, meaningful change — often in a shorter timeframe.
A collaborative conversation style that strengthens your own motivation and commitment to change.
Notice the thought patterns shaping your feelings and behaviors — and learn to gently reshape them.
You are not the problem — the problem is the problem. Re-author the story you tell about your life.
Explores meaning, choice, and identity — especially through life’s big questions and transitions.
Make room for difficult feelings while taking committed steps toward the life your values point to.
Honors your culture, identity, and lived experience as central — not incidental — to your healing.
Focuses on present choices and relationships, helping you meet your needs in ways that work for you.
Grounding, breathwork, and present-moment awareness to calm the nervous system and build resilience.
